Initial consultations are free and last 15-20 minutes. I host consultations over the phone, through video chat, or in person. The purpose of these sessions is to explore what brings you to therapy, have any questions answered, and gauge if we are a good therapeutic fit!

I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
If you do not have this insurance, ask your insurance provider about your Out-of-Network (OON) benefits. Often, insurance providers will reimburse after the fact for Out-of-Network providers. Weirdly, this can sometimes even be cheaper than someone in network. Visit my FAQ page Here for how OON benefits work.

I am a partnered provider through the Grand Rapids Pride Center for their Therapy Assistance Program! If needing help to afford the cost of therapy, the Pride Center can help. Learn more through the Pride Center Here.

Full rate for sessions independent of insurance (called private pay) is $180 for 53 minutes.
If using insurance, check with your provider about copay or coinsurance rates for therapy. To do so, outpatient one hour sessions are billing code 90837.
If not using insurance/if utilizing private pay, reduced rates are available via sliding scale on an individual basis. Rates range from $120-$170 depending on income and therapist availability. My scale is the following:
Under $25,000/year, session rate is $120
$25,000-$40,000/year, session rate is $130
$40,000-$60,000/year, session rate is $140
$60,000-$80,000/year, session rate is $150
$80,000-$100,000/year, session rate is $160
$100,000+/year, session rate is $170
*Spots for each tier are limited/based an availability. Feel free to ask what is available at the moment!
*This scale is also based off of the payers income, not client income. If someone is paying for sessions for you, their income is the one considered.
*I do not ask for proof of income, but this comes with the expectation of honesty. I offer reduced rates to help affordability, and dishonesty could bar someone else from treatment.
HSA, credit cards, debit cards, and checks can be used to pay for sessions.
